Swell is a humble design studio based in Calgary, Alberta — creating strategy-led brands and Squarespace websites for small businesses that want to grow with clarity and confidence.

I believe design without strategy is just decoration. Every project starts with purpose — built to connect, convert, and last. From brand identities to full websites, my work balances creativity and clarity, with a little rebellion in the mix.

Your Designer

Alaina Recsky is the creative director and lead senior designer behind Swell. I bring to the table years of experience in the design and entrepreneurial industries, as well as credentials from Mount Royal and SAIT. Over the years, I have worked with credible companies of all sizes and have launched countless brands that stand the test of time and bring results.

I’m passionate, down-to-earth, and a detailed, focused designer. I love a challenge and pushing the boundaries of both design and industry standards. My design foundation is modern, minimal, fresh, functional, solution-driven, and visionary. I believe in an intentional design approach, simply working with good people and a good cup of coffee to start the day.

When not doing designy things, I spend my time with my daughter, husband, and Dog. You might find us outside on a mountain bike ride, in the mountains camping, or simply just taking it slow and watching a movie. I also enjoy connecting with family and friends and seeking adventure…wherever that may be.
